Where to Go for Automation of Robot Army in Clothing Industry

In recent years, the global demographic dividend has rapidly disappeared, and the traditional garment industry is facing a serious labor and cost crisis. The demand for automation production is constantly released. Continuous innovation has been made in sewing technology, logistics, ironing and packaging. For example, with the help of advanced template machine control technology of Shenzhen Zhongweixing and other companies, automatic template machine has greatly improved the quality and efficiency of sewing products in the garment industry, and robots represented by sewing robots are being favored by enterprises in the industry.

Global garment industry is introducing "Robot Army"

So, what is the current situation of the development and application of garment robots? At present, in fact, many garment enterprises around the world are actively introducing the "Robot Army", which has covered all aspects of design, production, packaging and transportation.

Among them, in 2016, designers in New York used robots to assist design. The color matched by robots not only satisfies the designer's emotional needs, but also promotes the diversification of design styles. At the same time, in the aspects of packaging, selection and transportation, the development of intelligent logistics also has. Effectiveness has led to the rapid upgrading of the garment industry.

However, I believe that what you want to pay attention to is the production link. In the production process, sewing robot is the key to complete everything. Sewbot, a clothing company in Atlanta, USA, has developed a sewing robot that can produce a T-shirt efficiently in 22 seconds without human intervention. At present, this product has been introduced by Volvo, Adidas, Armani, Reebok and other big brands.

Of course, sewing robots are not unique in foreign countries, and they also have certain development in China. Not long ago, a garment factory from Guangdong Province also launched a sewing robot. Although this robot is only one of the 25 automation equipments independently developed by the manufacturer, it has contracted 65% of the production tasks and processes, which is undoubtedly the key to the realization of automation production.

What will automated production bring to the garment industry?

No matter in the ancient age of men's farming and women's weaving, or in the red age of eulogizing women textile workers, it may never have occurred to anyone that sewing clothes can also be done by machines. However, the current fact is that robots have indeed become an important participant in the development of the garment industry, which has received the unanimous attention of the industry. So, what on earth does it depend on to "conquer" everyone? In other words, what does automated production bring to the garment industry?

For enterprises in areas where population resources are scarce and labor costs are high, automated production brings new production modes and choices. Enterprises need not worry about high production costs, insufficient production efficiency and unqualified product quality, all of which will disappear with the application of robotics automation, cheapness and refinement. At the same time, the emergence of robots has also brought clothing enterprises closer to consumers. Without cost worries, enterprises can locate manufacturing factories at consumers'doors, thus shortening the long and slow supply chain, so that enterprises and consumers can meet their needs.

But for countries such as Southeast Asia, which is based on cheap labor, the emergence of robots may be less friendly. The increasing use of robots in the garment industry means that these countries will lose a large number of jobs and opportunities. When robots become "intruders" of human prey, it will be detrimental to the development of a country with a large population and a base salary.

However, from the current development alone, the cost of robots in the apparel industry has not been low enough to shake the cheap labor force. Low-cost labor is still the favorite of many countries and manufacturers, which may be good news. At the same time, the efficiency and quality of robots are indeed higher than that of human beings, and they provide more choices and opportunities for enterprises. They also have strong development potential in the future, which makes robots more and more concerned.

"Fear of Softness" is Still the Hard Wound of Robots

Generally speaking, it is the general trend for robots to enter and subvert the garment industry. Whether it brings more opportunities or more challenges, it has reached an irreversible stage. But the development of robots is not so smooth, and there are more or less problems in the application process, which need to be solved by us.

At present, garment production robots, expressed as sewing robots, can not compete for cheap labor in price and cost. Besides, their own technology also has a "fear of soft" situation. What is fear of softness? It is in the treatment of some fabrics that robots can easily sew hard materials, but they are helpless for some soft faces. This also explains why our country has developed 3D sewing robots in the field of automobile manufacturing and aeronautics at present, but has not made great breakthroughs and great progress in the field of clothing.

However, this problem is not simply bothering our country, it has long been a worldwide problem. At present, although some countries have solved the problem of fabric grasping by means of curing method, vacuum adsorption method, electrostatic adsorption method and simulator method, they are still trapped in the problem of soft fabric in transportation stage. In the future, there will be no breakthrough in this hard injury. I am afraid that the development of sewing robots in the garment industry will wait for a long time.
